In the United States, we just celebrated the 4th of July.
As Christians, freedom is more than a holiday we celebrate once a year. It is something we celebrate every day of the year.
John 8:36 (KJV) If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
This verse reminds us that true freedom comes directly from Jesus. When He sets us free from sin, it is complete and lasting.
Paul teaches that the Holy Spirit brings genuine liberty. Wherever the Spirit is present and active, freedom from bondage follows.
2 Corinthians 3:17 (KJV) Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
John 8:32 (KJV) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Jesus explains that knowing and following His truth releases us from deception and spiritual slavery.
Romans 8:2 (KJV) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
This verse shows how the power of the Spirit breaks the control of sin, giving us new life and freedom in Christ.
1 Peter 2:16 (KJV) As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
Peter warns believers to use their freedom wisely, not as an excuse to do wrong, but to serve God and others with it.
As the worship team leads us in song and praise, let's thank God for our freedom from the bondage of sin and death.
